Frontline (Act I)

In situ installation in a beach cabin, Le Havre
At the invitation of the artist Simon Le Cieux
Inhabiting a beach cabin for a week. Making it a place of experimentation and
creation, somewhere between a film set, a stage and an installation.
This experience offered different artistic perspectives to the people passing through the beach of Le Havre and in front of this first row of cabins.
This first act investigated the peculiar « brick-pebbles » that can be found on this beach, and the two potential yet opposite origin stories that are attributed to them.
Some inhabitants believe that these bricks are eroded ruins from the city which was bombed and destroyed during World War II. Others suppose that these wall fragments originate from the past landfill of Dollemard, which has now crumbled from the cliff.
The careful collection and progressive
staging of these stones produce a piece on the threshold between performance and
installation, interrupted or enriched by the passers-by, their gaze and their questions.
